Comments: Near mint condition .22 cal Colt newline with original factory nickel and blue finish in London dealer case, made in 1875
The gun has 45mm long, glossy original factory blued barrel and 7 shot cylinder. Frame and backstrap is nickel plated with some small nickel flaked off at top sides of frame. The nickle plating on the frame and backstrap is crisp and has virtually no handling marks. A sharp two line barrel address reads “ COLTS PT FA MGF CC and HARTFORD CT USA”. The barrel has sharp rifling with a few small spots of frostiness in some of the rifling grooves.
Left side of frame has sharp etched panel, reading “COLT NEW 22”. The gun is British Proofed with stamps in each cylinder flute, and under the barrel. There are some marks to let left and right barrel flats which look like some bright spark may have put it in a vice?. The top strap of the frame has two line dealers address engraved , reading “ WATSON BROs”, and “4 PALL MALL LONDON”. The action is tight and functions correctly.
Grips appear to be rosewood, fit perfectly, with minor handling marks and high gloss finish.
Included is the excellent condition leather covered fitted case with silver (?) vacant escutcheon on the lid. The case is lined blue velvet, with purple satin/ silk lid lining bearing gold lettering with the dealers name.
This a beautiful gun and case set and would be stunning piece to a Colt or Pocket revolver collection.
